Small villages, waterside pubs and tearooms, ancient woodlands, tranquil estuaries and secluded beaches
Beginning
and ending near the bustling market town of Narberth, this trail provides
a wonderful opportunity for walkers to discover
the highlights of the South Pembrokeshire countryside
and coast. The trail follows the Coast
Path south through the small resort village of Saundersfoot,
along the coast to Tenby, a splendid example of a medieval walled
town, with narrow cobbled streets, and numerous
cafés and pubs. The pretty village of Manorbier boasts a
well-preserved medieval castle, impressive Norman church and the
Kings Quoit, a Neolithic cromlech. From here
the route winds past some of the areas loveliest secluded
beaches, to the National Trusts Stackpole Estate and the tiny
harbour at Stackpole Quay. Beyond the tranquil
lily ponds at Bosherston, the trail winds its way along the "secret
waterway" of the Daugleddau estuary,
passing through the tiny village of Carew with
its impressive castle, Celtic

spectacular cliffs of the South Pembrokeshire Coast. Day 4: Manorbier to Bosherston (8 miles) Manorbier Castle is remarkably well preserved, and includes a 12th century gatehouse, a keep, two 13th century towers, and a vaulted chapel. Day 5: Bosherston to Milton (10 miles)
The 18th century manmade lakes are ringed by wide, flat nature trails. Day 6: Milton to Lawrenny (11 miles) Carew Castle and millpond are justly celebrated as among the most magnificent Norman keeps in all of South Wales. Day 7: Lawrenny to Narberth (9 miles) Stroll amongst the vines of Cwm Deri Vineyard. The winery features rescued donkeys, rare-breed Hebridean and Shetland sheep and an ample wine cellar.
