Your tour starts in the world's city of charm, Vienna. Europe's youngest EU-Capital, Bratislava invites you to make shopping tours in the picturesque old part of town. The metropolis Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe is the crowning conclusion of your journey. This tour offers a natural and cultural experience mostly away from the touristic centers. Untouched nature, hardly known art-treasures and cultural monuments are on the bike route between Vienna and Budapest closely connected to each other. You will hardly anywhere else find such a mixture of inherent natural beauty, historic sights and native traditions. You cycle in the infinite widths of the Hungarian lowlands You can also visit the famous "Arabian National Stud" in Babolina where you can fid out the secrets of traditional horse breeding. The Basilica in Esztergom is the greatest church in Hungary and accommodates many art treasures. Tour profile: The tour is mostly flat with sometimes hilly terrain. Day 6 is rather hilly. You bike along the Danube-cycle-path until the city of Bratislava; in Hungary you will bicycle on country roads and side roads in and out of the cities with some traffic!

Music is the soul of the city with concerts and operas jamming the schedule. Visit the wine and coffee houses, Beethoven's home, Mozart's house. the Hofburg Imperial Palace and Marie Antoinette's childhood home: Schonbrunn palace. Enjoy the many talented artists entertaining on the street. Top the night off with a delicious Viennese dinner followed by a sinful local pastry.
(approx. 46 km/29 miles) On the Danube-cycle-path you bike through the idyllic meadows along the Danube, through the national park "Donauauen", passing the castles of Orth" and Eckartsau" (baroque hunting castle of Prince Eugene) to Petronell-Carnuntum, the site of significant Roman excavations where you can stroll where the Romans did or to the health resort Bad Deutsch Altenburg. Then spend another night in beautiful Austria. Day 3 - Bad Deutsch Altenburg/surroundings - Bratislava - Mosonmagyaróvár/Halaszi Still following the Danube-cycle-path you will reach the capital of Slovakia Bratislava. A quaint old centre with a lovely pedestrian zone. A city of sidewalk cafes, coffee shops, countless restaurants, museums and colorful shops will invite you to an extended stroll.. Enjoy a glass of the local Slovakian wine... sit back and watch the people pass by. It is almost impossible to imagine that it has been over fifteen years since the "Velvet Revolution". A time when this colorful city was almost totally gray and very stark. Then bike on to the border and cross into Hungary... you have just bicycled through three countries in a single day. Now cycle through small typical villages using the dam cycle path (gravel) and country roads to Mosonmagyarovar (don't worry, you don't have to be able to spell it to stay there!!). Day 4 - Mosonmagyaróvár/Halaszi - Györ (approx. 45 km/28 miles)
Day 5 - Györ - Tata (approx. 61 km/38 miles) Today you bike through a landscape of rolling hills and reach the picturesque town of Tata, situated on two lakes located at the foot of the hill "Gerecse". A longer version of the ride leads you to the Benedictine monastery of "Pannonhalma". Don't forget to visit the Arabian National Stud in Babolna, this is a historical place of culture. Day 6 - Tata - Esztergom/Sturovo (approx. 55 km/34 miles) Two possibilities: 1. After a short train ride (approx. 12 miles - not included) you will reach the divided city of Komarom, a border town between Hungary and Slovakia. Along the Slovakian Danube bank you bike through small farmer-villages through a flat region to Esztergom. 2, On this routing, you will leave Tata and travel over the lush forests and densely wooded hills of the Gerecse" range. Some uphill stretches are rewarded with wonderful descents. In Esztergom (also called the Hungarian Rome) you can admire the imposing cathedral. The shorter version is to take the ship from Szentendre to Budapest. Day 8 - Budapest - Vienna Breakfast and a day to explore this magical city - Two cities really, in ancient times they were Buda and Pest facing each other across the river Danube. The architecture is amazing... coffee shops abound... sidewalk cafes are everywhere... the city market is a wonder of lace and fresh food and crafts... music floats in the air... the city seems to be in a constant state of perpetual motion. One could spend weeks here just exploring and be constantly delighted... spend extra time if you can. Departure by scheduled bus is daily at 5 p.m. (if required and pre-booked an earlier departure at noon is available) Arrival is at approx. 8 p.m. The bus schedule is subject to change. Included - Coach transfer from Budapest to Vienna is included in the price of the tour (departure: 5 p.m. arrival in Vienna: approx. 08:20 p.m.) or/an extension. Transfer of own bikes is only possible by this means and on Saturday only. Supplement for return of own bicycles is Euro 20 per bike. Bikes will be transferred only to the start hotel in Vienna and will arrive approximately at 10p.m. A reservation for the transfer of your own bike is obligatory.
