Here in the Vaudois Alps, not far from the hustle and bustle of big cities, you will discover on foot a place of natural beauty, cherished traditions, and heart-felt hospitality.

Discover this overwhelmingly beautiful landscape with the help of numerous cable cars that bring you up close to spectacular peaks, thundering waterfalls, crystal alpine lakes and wild flower meadows.

Exceptional alpine flora and fauna to excite the interest of any nature lovers. butterflies, marmots, chamois and the Royal eagle are just some of the amazing species you may encounter.

Starting in the German speaking Bernese Oberland and continuing through the French speaking Vaudois Alps, this is one of the most classic of Swiss walking areas.

Belled cows grazing in lush meadows, panoramic trains that you can set your watch by and outstanding dairy cheese farms are just some of the highlights of this walk.

This walking tour commences in the small village of Lenk, situated at the foot of the Wildstrubel mountain range. Descend to  Gstaad. This famous resort, buzzes with activity during the summer months hosting international tennis tournaments and a Jazz Festival.

The next stage, wandering along the alpine trail, offers views of the imposing Eiger-Monch Jungfrau Massif, then passes through the Natural Reserve of la Pierreuse, with its surprising variety of flora and fauna, before arriving in the village of Château d’Oex. Known for its Hot Air Balloon Festival, Château d’Oex typifies Switzerland; picture-perfect chalets with flower-filled window boxes, brown cows grazing in the pastures and children skipping down the cobblestone streets. Walk to Lessoc and take the scenic train along the valley floor to the village of Morlon. You can spend your last day looking around the impressive Gruyères castle and tasting fine cheese.

Easy walking trip. Walking along high mountain ridges, paths and along valley bottom trails. At times, you might be at 2500 m/8125 ft above sea level. Numerous cable car rides are at hand.

• Pick up by our rep in minibus transfer from Geneva airport to the town of Lenk (2.5hrs).

Day 2 - Active Free Day - your choice:

• Stroll past several waterfalls to Simmenfalle and Rezliberg

• Walk past the lake of Lenk and powerful waterfalls of Iffingalp

Day 3 - Lenk to Lauenen     (4-5 hrs)

Explore the high mountain meadows to the charming village of Lauenen and enjoy exceptional views over the snow capped Wildhorn.

Day 4 - Active Free Day - your choice:

• Walk to the romantic lake of Lauenen

• Walk to the fantastic ski resort of Gstaad

Day 5 - Lauenen to Gsteig     (3 hrs)

• Exciting walking will bring you to the charming village of Gsteig

• Bus and cable car to the Glaciers des Diablerets.

• Explore the lovely French ski resort village of Les Diablerets

Day 7 - Gsteig to Saanen     (3-4 hrs)

• Easy stroll along the river to Saanen passing Gstaad

• Take the Eggli cable car and walk to Vidamanette Nature reserve.

• Walk to the exclusive resort of Saanenmoser

Day 9 - Saanen to Chateau d'Oex (3-4 hrs)

• Walk to Chateau d'Oex via Rougemont along the high route

Day 10 - Active Free Day - your choice:

• Relax at the mountain restaurant of La Braye

• Visit the cheese farms of L'Etivaz. Train to Gruyeres castle

Day 11 - Departure Day

• Transfer to Geneva airport (1.5 hrs)
