Cycle
tours through various landscapes in
function
of your level : canyons, valleys, lakes, rivers, garrigue and vineyards
until the skyline…. Of course, don’t forget the opportunity for a local
wine-tasting and visit of the cellar in a famous house...
ITINERARY:
 Day
1
: Arrival/Welcoming in Montpellier
Pick-up by English speaking
travel
guide in Montpellier airport or train station. Transfer to your
accommodation in Aniane - Explanation of the tour programme and the road
book with tourist information and the different cycle-itineraries in
function of your level.
Possibility to make a warm-up or short cycle tour in the countryside of
Aniane by quiet and picturesque roads.
Day 2 :
Tour : Hérault Canyon *** (59 km/36
mi.)
A tour beginning with a visit of the very charming medieval village of
St. Guilhem-le-Désert and it’s Abbey. Also possibility to visit the
“Grotte de Clamouse”. The road continues through the magnificent
landscapes of the Gorges of Hérault. During summer a refreshing swimming
tour is possible in the Hérault river. At the end of your cycle tour,
possibility to do a wine tasting at Montpeyroux or enjoy a
drink on the
terrace at the Bistro de l’Horloge on market place
 Day
3 :
Tour : Vineyard tour and Olive route (35 km or 58 km/12
mi or 40 mi)
Small and quiet roads takes you through a picturesque landscape of
vineyards and the villages of Gignac, Lagamas and St Etienne before
arriving at Saint Saturnin for a wine tasting. Returning to Aniane by
passing the town of
Saint André de Sangonis (cooperative of olive oil). Possibility to extend
the tour with 23 km.
Day 4 :
Tour : Saint-Martin-de-Londres ** (52 km/32
mi)
The first part of the tour there is a light climb for 18 km/11
mi.
until the village St. Martin de Londres. A medieval village with a church
from the 11th century. Thereafter the tour continues through
the particular landscape called the garrigue before arriving at Aniane.

5 :
Tour : Lake of Salagou *** (67 km/41
mi)
A tour that takes you to the big lake “Lac du Salagou” passing by the town
of
Clermont-l’Hérault. Picturesque landscapes with the possibility to swim in
the lake or do some water activities.
Day 6 :
Departure
Transfer in the morning by Travel guide to
Montpellier.

In Case of Breakdown
- We do not intervene for flat tires. However, should any breakdown occur
that prevents the completion of the days journey we will make repairs on
the road. A phone number will be provided. All other types of necessary
repairs that do not make cycling impossible will be repaired at the hotel
each night.
