King Louis and the Bavarian Sea
The
Bavarian
Chiemgau and Lake
Chiem
Austria
and Bavaria
Somebody who loves a bike
tour through a soft hilly landscape and idyllic towns, embedded in-between
mountains and lakes is going to enjoy this
trip
through the Bavarian Chiemgau. The guest meets with open-minded people
that have spelled hospitality with a capital H. The warmth of the small
towns is a real trump card. You can have a chat, eat and drink all on one
table. The impressions of a special intensity stay behind with you.
You
are confronted with an important historical past, because this is where
Celts, Romans and the Bavarians used to live; from here Salzburgs
archbishops and the Bavarian dukes have influenced the course of history.
One should put the bike aside once in a while to take a look at
excavations sites, fortresses out of the Middle Ages, gothic chapels and
monasteries.
Of
course, a tour of the festival
city
Salzburg, the town where the tour begins and ends
completes the experience.. Well maintained bicycle
paths will take you on a tour through a part of traditional Bavarian
culture the traditions and the cuisine. A high level of physical fitness is
not required, but rather an interest in originality and authenticity. Then the tour
around the Bavarian Sea (Chiemsee Lake Chiem) will be an unforgettable
experience.
Tour features:
Usually hilly, mainly easy for biking.
Partly bicycle paths, mainly meadow paths and sometimes side roads. A few
short distances on traffic roads.
