Tour Profile: Burgundy is a rolling countryside with a occasional moderate hills and a few long climbs. The route is usually on quiet country roads or cycle paths. Expect some traffic as you enter the towns.

The wonderful warm and homey Burgundian restaurants, cafes and cuisine. Beaune with its Hotel Diu, a hospital from the year 1433, and the cavernous wine tasting cellar beneath the city where you can taste all of the wines of Burgundy. The wine museum of Beaune. tasting. Chateau du Clos Vougeot- from the 16th century. It is now the home of the most prestigious association of vintners in the world . The Itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrival in Beaune Uncontested wine capital of Burgundy and also one of the most exquisite little French towns, source of art and history. Do not miss the famous Hotel-Dieu (chosen as emblem of Burgundy with its roofs made of glazed tiles) and the wine museum of Burgundy. Day 2 - Beaune - Cote de Nuit - Beaune 56 km/35 mi (+ optional loop 12 km) Excursion devoted to discover the famous area "Cote de Nuits" known for the "Grands Vins de Bourgogne" and more especially the red wines : Morey St Denis, Chambolle Musigny, Vosne Romanee and the most expensive wine of Burgundy : Romanee Conti. You will also appreciate some famous sights such as the Chateau du Clos Vougeot, and the town of Nuits Saint Georges or the chateau of Gevrey Chambertin. Day 3 - Beaune - Chateauneuf 38 km/24 mi Still passing through the famous vineyards of Burgundy you will reach the Ouche Valley. Then cross the Burgundy canal to finally reach Chateauneuf, an old picturesque village of artists protected by a 12th - 15th century chateau. It is more like traveling to another time than another place!Day 4 - Chateauneuf - Autun 53 km/33 mi A country stage via the town of Arnay le Duc and its charming medieval center and via other pretty villages before joining Autun. While a student in the school of Autun, Napoleon Bonaparte must have certainly dreamt here about imperial glory in front of the roman vestiges of the city founded by Auguste. The Arroux Gate, the St Andre Gate and the Theatre (the biggest one of Gaul) are the most important Roman sites. Even the cathedral St Lazare built on the 12th century is marked by the Roman decorative influence.
Day 5 - Autun - Beaune 63 km/39 mi A journey back to the vineyards via the Renaissance chateau de Sully and the pretty town of Nolay, a charming town with a beautiful 15th century covered market, edged with the "Haute Cote de Beaune" vineyards. Continue via the Chateau de La Rochepot (a magnificent fortress with glazed tile roofs) and the "Cote de Beaune", famous for its prestigious white wines such as Meurasault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, etc. ..a last taste of sheer Burgundy delight!
Day 6 - Departure Enjoy breakfast... and then its time to go home.

IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN: We do not intervene for flat tires. However, should any breakdown occur that prevents the completion of the days journey we will make repairs on the road. A phone number will be provided. All other types of necessary repairs that do not make cycling impossible will be repaired at the hotel each night.
