Who We Are... .

 

 

WorldVentures was founded in 1982 by Bill McBride. He is the sole owner of the corporation and is still its Director. He began researching the business in 1981 and booked the company's first tours in 1982.

 

We are located in Indianapolis, Indiana U.S.A. You can find specific information regarding location on the Contact button above.

 

Being from the flatlands of Indiana you might understand just why all of our trips are near oceans, lakes, mountains, vineyards, olive groves, islands or other more exotic locals. This is the stuff that really excites us!!

 

Our first tour was in Provence in June (the hottest summer in Provence in memory they told us later - it was around 100 f. every day!) it was a 9 day tour beginning in Orange and ending in Marseilles. The price was $499. There is a picture of this group, somewhere on this web site, just before shoving off on our very first cycling tour. Oh! the thousands of miles we have logged since then!

 

We have developed into an organization of family and friends, some of whom we met on one of our bike tours somewhere in the world and invited to come work with us. All of them are wonderful company, fun to be around (if you don't mind their incessant bike tour stories), and extremely sensitive tour leaders. We are very lucky and proud to be associated with them.

 

Our first series of tours ran from Paris to Pompeii in 2 week segments. We have since added many countries to our catalog as our tour members have requested over the years. We have also added Partner Tours, Self-Guided tours, and Walking tours as they have all become popular. A look at the drop down "Tours Menus" on the left will give you and idea.

 

Above all our mission is to serve you and our tour members and struggle to make each tour "The best vacation you have ever had".

I am home, but my body is still  on France time! The trip was excellent; we arrived in Fougeres, the start of the cycling trip, and were given a package of maps, detailed instructions, our bikes, hotel and dinner vouchers, The hotels were usually the best in the town and of course being in France the meals were all excellent. Usually we ate in the hotel, but on 2 occasions we ate at an outside restaurant and these were also great. Our luggage was picked up every day and was always at the next hotel before we were.

The bikes were great; they were touring bikes (hybrids); very comfortable and never a problem! Not even a flat tire, which I had carefully learned how to change before we left! The maps were a very large scale, so we only got lost a couple of times! I feel we could not have had a better trip."           Gillian
