You may start your cruise from Bram just a few miles from Carcassonne or from the charming port of Montech, the Canal du Midi meandering at the foot of the Black Mountains, under the shadows of the plane trees, offers you charming small villages, canal side restaurants and rich local patrimony including the citadel of Carcassonne, the site of Enserunnes, the arenas of Bemires and the unique round lock at Agde. Rendezvous with the sun, the success of your cruise sur le Canal du Midi, classified by UNESCO as a World heritage, is assured. It may well be the most popular cruising destination in Europe.

Our cruise suggestions from Le Somail

From the charming small port of Le Somail, cruise away to discover the Canal du Midi in the direction of Carcassonne or if your cruising time permits down to Narbonne close to the Mediterranean Sea. You will cruise on the largest pound of France (52 km without any locks) up the  Fonserannes staircase, situated close to the historical city of Beziers. A few kilometers more of navigation and you arrive, via Agde, at the Etang de Thau, renowned for its oyster beds.

Access - A61, A9 Paris 770km. - SNCF (train) station: TGV Beziers and Narbonne (Paris-Toulouse or Paris Montpellier). Le Somail to Narbonne is 20km. - Airports: Toulouse 148km, Beziers 35km, Carcassonne 56km, Montpellier 150km.

Quite close to Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi offers you its best aspect from the shade of its plane trees, at the foot of the Black mountains. You can visit numerous small villages and restaurants by the Canal side. In this sunny region, the success of your holiday is ensured cruising along the Canal classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage.

Access - To reach the base, highway A61. By train TGV (high speed train) at Toulouse, Beziers and Narbonne. Airport: Toulouse, Carcassonne and Montpellier

 OUR FLEET ON THE MIDI CANAL:

Estivale Series includes:  Estivale Duo

Estivale Series - This is a new range of boats offering a perfect compromise between the existing Sedan and Grand Confort series. The large aft terrace is on the same deck level as the lounge area (which is part of the success of the Sedan series). In addition to the stern gates, two extra side gates facilitate access to the terrace from either side of the boat, facilities which will be most appreciated when mooring. The galley area conserves a high standard of equipment for  a 2/4 - berth boat, whilst the forward cabin and shower room are spacious and comfortable. Outdoor life has not been left aside, a stairway molded into the hull enables access to the flying bridge, and the bridge controls fold away for maximum comfort. The forward bow terrace, greatly appreciate on the Grand confort range, has again been retained for outdoor snacks or lunches. Finally the height of refinement, the aft terrace has a sun awning, a saloon table with chairs, a shower and bathing ladder for these tempted by a swim! Without doubt the Duo will charm you for your next cruise along the waterways.

Sedan Series includes: N 800 - N 1000 - N 1010 - N 1150 - N 1160 - N 1170 - N 1300  - POOL

Sedan Series - An exclusive series with accommodations for from 2 to 12 people... A concept unequalled in the field of pleasure boating: The success lies in the superb saloon with its panoramic views, a vast sliding door to the rear of the saloon leading to an enjoyable sedan terrace with its overhead sun canopy under which you can enjoy your mid-day meals. The double steering position finishes the Captain's isolation at the helm. The crew is all together in this most agreeable concept.

Grand Confort Series includes: N 900 - N 1100

Grand Confort Series - The latest concept from our boatyard with accommodations for 2 to 10 people. The Grand Confort provides comfortable and spacious cabins with  headroom below deck around 6 feet 6 inches. Each cabin has its own bathroom/WC. Easy and safe access to the fore terrace (the gangway is molded into the hull deck).  Aft steps lead to the roof solarium... privacy is respected offering maximum comfort for a crew of 2, 3, or 4 members depending upon the type of boat chosen.

Riviera-Marina Series includes: R 920 - R 1130 

Riviera - Marina Series - An earlier design from our boatyard, these boats are  renowned  for their maneuverability. Ideal for a first cruise... they provide comfortable cabins, a saloon  with overhead sliding roof so that you may lunch under the sun...  and ideal compromise of comfort on board at attractive prices.

PRICING PERIODS BY SEASON  

• GREEN - 24 March to 27 April & 15 September to 3 November

• YELLOW - 30 June to 13 July & 25 to 31 August

• BLUE - 28 April to 29 June & 1 September to 14 September

• PINK - 14 July to 24 August

• ORANGE - 21 July to 17 August. The Orange price period applies only to the bases of south France originating in Bouzies, Buzet, Bram, le Somail, and Bellegarde.

Rental Periods and Extra Charges:

• Week: Departure between 4 and 6 p.m. return between 8 and 9 a.m.

• Mini Week: From Monday 2 p.m. to Friday 9 a.m. or from Tuesday 2 p.m. to Saturday 9 a.m.

• Weekend: From Friday 4 p.m. to Sunday 5 p.m.

• Pool Optional: Available only for "N" series of boats (except N 800). A permit is required to rent a pool if sailing on N1300, N1310, N1350, and N1350 VIP models.

• One week = 7 nights. Where your holiday overlaps two seasonal periods, the price is calculated according to the number of days falling in each period.

• Lubz & Lychen (Germany): There is a $115 charge per booking for the boats with the stem propeller

• The River Lot (Departure from Bouzies): A shorter season, inclement river conditions and additional supervision cause prices for this region to be slightly higher than in others. There is a $115 supplement per boat.
