Scotland   THE MAGIC OF THE HIGHLANDS

"In these bewitching landscapes of extremely abundant greenery, your boat suddenly becomes like a reassuring bastion against the vastness of the area."

As in another world... Myth or reality... Does anyone know how many legends have been haunting this region in the mists of times? The Caledonian Canal sits at the heart of the Great Glen fault. The Canal connects a series of Lochs - Lochy, Oich and Ness - before reaching Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands. Mysterious Loch Ness lies at the center of your cruise, relax on deck as you pass over the dark waters, and wonder what might be below. The Highlands grandiose and cosmic scenery inevitably exerts mystery, dreams and fascination... Here mountains look the size of beyond and nature spells charm at its most untamed... Departure for an extraordinary cruise! From Inverness to Fort William, at the heart of the great Glen fault, the Caledonian Canal reveals its magic: On either side, mountain slopes and hillsides clad in a green and purple mantle of heath and silvery heather; Not far from an austere looking castle, a few sheep raise their heads and scatter; elsewhere, you find yourself alone in the middle of a loch, in the middle of space... The wake of the boat breaks into slow ripples that reflect the setting sun... Unique moments... Sheer magic! In the evening, in the soft and subdued lights of a pub, let the magic continue... Enjoy a Single Malt whisky whilst being rocked by the notes of a Gaelic harp... tomorrow there might be some fishing or a game of golf... Who knows?

Flavors of the region: Hearty soups and broths brimming with local vegetables and tasty meats and filling home cooking such as haggis, dumplings and black puddings can be found in restaurants throughout Scotland. Renowned for having a sweet tooth, the Scots enjoy cakes, sweets and shortbreads at high tea in the afternoon.

At Banavie, take a trip to Mallag, a small fishing town on the wild western coast of Scotland, using the West Highland Railway line, renowned as one of the world's most scenic rail journeys. Spend time in Inverness, sightseeing, shopping (get kitted out in a kilt!) and even dolphin watching - you can take a trip from Inverness harbour to watch bottle-nosed dolphins in the Moray Firth. Anglers may like to spend a day fly-fishing for salmon on the river Oich or trolling for salmon on Loch Ness. Cruise to Banavie and take a gondola up Anoch Mor beside Ben Nevis to admire the breathtaking scenery of the Highlands.
