Day 2 - Strasbourg to Sand (45 km/28mi) You will leave Strasbourg along the Rhône-Rhine canal which will lead you along its very pretty cycle track into the heart of the Ried. Day 3 - Sand to Colmar (42 km26mi)You will travel through the landscapes and villages of the Alsatian Ried. which is rich in aquatic flora and fauna. You will have time to visit the very beautiful Baroque church at Ebersmunster before finally returning to Colmar. 4 - Colmar to Ottmarsheim (45 km/28mi)Passing through pretty sleepy and flower-bedecked villages you will come to Ottmarsheim where you will visit the Romanesque church built on a centered plan as a replica to the basilica of Aachen and dating from the 12th Century. Day 5 - Ottmarsheim to Guebwiller (45 km/28mi) You will leave the banks of the Rhine and the villages of the Sundgau to go to Guebwiller which nestles in the foothills of the Vosges. No doubt you will have the time to go as far as Muchbach and visit the remains of its abbey which is one of the oldest in Alsace. 6 - Guebwiller to Riquewhir (50 km/31mi)At the foot of the Vosges nestle the winemaking villages responsible for the reputation of the Alsatian Grand Crus: Eguisheim, Turkheim, Kaysersberg. Day 8 - Obernai to Strasbourg (40 km/25mi)Country roads and cycle tracks will take you from Rosheim (11th Century Romanesque church) to Avolsheim.
